In 2012, Timothy W. Purvis (Tim) founded Pupil Transportation Information, LLC (PTI) because of growing requests for independent management assistance for School Districts, County Offices of Education, Joint Powers Authority (JPA) and private enterprises searching for expertise with Transportation Demand Management models and assessments. The PTI Team of Consultants consists of industry known experts in public and private transportation chief operating leadership positions, vehicle maintenance, safety & training, organizational design, fiscal analysis, collective bargaining and leadership mentoring.

Tim served as both the Assistant Director and Director of Transportation for the Poway Unified School District in San Diego County for nearly 33 years. Poway is a large suburban K-12 school district with 40 schools and a student population over 36,000. Tim directed the districts comprehensive transportation program providing both home-to-school transportation to over 3,000 students and their special needs transportation support service to over 850 students daily. The district supports the extracurricular transportation needs of over 3,300 field trips annually and successfully manages one of the states most successful parent participation transportation fee programs contributing over 1.3 million annually to offset their program expenses.

Since starting his career as a school bus driver, Tim has been involved in nearly every aspect of transportation of students and employees. He has written curriculum for CASBO’s Transportation Leadership Academy, he is an online instructor for USC’s Rossier School of Education, served in several leadership roles with CASTO, and has consulted for nearly 30 years for the Fiscal Crisis Management and Assistance Team (FCMAT).

  • Anton Lotter

    Mr. Lötter has 18 years of experience in school pupil transportation and currently serves as the Director of Transportation Services for the Poway Unified School District (PUSD) in San Diego, California. Prior to joining PUSD as Assistant Director of Transportation in 2018, Mr. Lötter served as Operations Supervisor and, subsequently, Assistant Director of Transportation for the Kern High School District (KHSD) in Bakersfield, California, one of the largest non-unified school Districts in the State, and one of the largest high school district transportation programs in the nation. Mr. Lötter has served as consulting editor for PTI since May of 2022.

  • Donna Anderson

    Donna joined PTI as an independent consultant in 2018. She is a retired Transportation Programs Consultant from the California Dept of Education. She was responsible for certifying the instructors and delegating behind-the-wheel trainers for school bus, school pupil activity bus, farm labor vehicles and transit bus. She also wrote the required training curriculum, monitored the state certified Instructor/trainers and provided field support. Donna was the lead facilitator and instructor for the Department Instructors Certification Course, Special Needs Transportation Course and the Transportation Administrators Course. Donna was both CASTO Chapter president and served 2 terms as the Executive Board State Secretary.

  • Phillip Medved

    Phil has over 40 years of progressive vehicle maintenance experience to include 26 years vehicle maintenance/supervision, logistic and planning while on deployment for the U.S. Navy in both active and reserve duty capacity. Prior to joining the PTI team, Phil was employed for 24 years with Poway Unified School District and over 8 years with Ryder Truck Rental as Fleet Manager. Phil is active with the CASTO and has coordinated numerous vehicle maintenance workshops and vendor exhibits. Phil has performed consulting services for FCMAT. Phil is a primary consultant for PTI specializing in the area of vehicle maintenance.

  • Marsa Miller

    Marsa has over 32 years of experience in pupil transportation and she joined the PTI team as a respected resource to many transportation leaders and school district administrators in California. Marsa is known as a compassionate leader and is a strong advocate for transportation leadership training. She recently retired from her role as Director of Transportation for the Kern High School District in Bakersfield, California for the past 17 years. Kern has the largest 9-12 high school district in the state with over 35,000 students.

  • Chris Johnston

    Chris joined PTI in 2019 and serves as consultant with expertise in the areas of facilities, maintenance, operations, and the alignment of operational plans with financial resources. He has a degree in Technical Studies and Construction Management from Thomas Edison State University, with additional studies in civil/mechanical engineering and project management. Additionally he has completed CASBO’s Chief Business Official certification course, and serves on the the CASBO Maintenance and Operations Professional Council.

  • Omar Dena

    Omar retired from the California Army National Guard in 2019 and joined the Pupil Transportation Information team as a consultant and has assisted with the support of various districts in southern California. He provides required training and organizes training curriculum to ensure school bus drivers are meeting all requirements set by the California Department of Education, Office of School Transportation.

  • Adrian Corral

    Mr. Corral has over 31 years of vehicle maintenance experience. For the past 26 years, Mr. Corral has been employed with the Kern High School District (KHSD), initially as a vehicle repair technician, and for the past 10 years as the Assistant Director of Transportation overseeing the district’s vehicle maintenance program. His responsibility includes the maintenance and management of approximately 270 school buses, over 400 district white fleet vehicles, and over 2000 other pieces of equipment district wide. Mr. Corral was instrumental in implementing and staffing KHSD’s world class 24 hours a day vehicle maintenance program, which includes three shifts with over 40 employees to support KHSD’s demanding route and trip operations. Prior to the district, Mr. Corral worked in a variety of vehicle maintenance and general maintenance positions in for-profit companies and with oil drilling companies. Mr. Corral earned an AS degree in Automotive Technology from Bakersfield College, along with certificates in Accounting and Economics.
